Dear Parents/Guardians:

 I would like to welcome everyone back from what I hope was an enjoyable and restful summer.  A special welcome to our new families, I look forward to meeting all of you. We have a great year ahead of us and many exciting activities planned throughout the year.  The PTO is a very big part of providing our students with different opportunities during the school year – please consider supporting Robertson’s PTO by becoming an active member, volunteering at events, participating in fundraisers, etc.  Our first PTO meeting is Monday, September 24th at 6pm.

 For the first day of school, I will be sending out an all call and email on Monday night with information.  The basics for the first day is walkers and drop offs should come to the back of the school to the playground area.  Please look for signs on the school walls with your child’s grade level. At 8:00 when the first bell rings, students and families should make their way to the grade level area.  By 8:05 when the second bell rings, grade level teachers will come to that area, introduce themselves, and begin to call out names for their classroom. Students will line up with their teacher and make their way inside.  If you have any questions, I will be outside along with our PTO if you need assistance.

  • As a reminder, school hours are 8:05-2:15.
  • The first bell rings at 8:00 AM (morning supervision begins at 7:45).
  • Students are on their way to classrooms at 8:05 AM.
  • After 8:05 AM they are considered tardy and need to report to the main office.
  • At dismissal the first bell rings at 2:10 PM for bus and daycare students.
  • Walkers are released at 2:15 PM at the back of the school.

In the morning, parents please drop off your children at the back of the playground, utilizing either the back field parking lot or the parent lot as you make your way around the school.  Please do not park in the first parking lot, which is for teachers and staff and can be dangerous if students are walking through as teachers are coming and going. If you park along the road rather than the parking lots, please have your child exit the car on the playground side rather than the traffic side, this is for student drop off only (parents please remain in your car when parking along the sidewalk).  I ask for parent cooperation to please drive slowly and carefully to ensure all of our student’s safety.

 On another important note, if your child’s dismissal will be different on any given day, please fill out a dismissal change form which can be found on Robertson’s website under the Parent Resources tab and scroll to the bottom of the page – we are also sending a copy home Tuesday.  If you are not able to access the website, you may also send in a note with the details. It would be helpful if all changes are sent to the main office first thing in the morning. Please be sure to do this for the first days of school as well, especially if your child is typically a bus or day care student but you will be picking them up the first few days.

 Also, please be on the lookout for a Back to School Gateway email to update any address, phone number, or contact changes – especially if there are changes in who can pick up your child from school.  From this website you can also apply for Free\Reduced Lunch, make transportation requests, sign up for school closing\early dismissal\attendance alerts, and provide medical updates. This is an important new feature for you to check out – please let me know if you have difficulty accessing it.  Lastly, at the end of this message are links to other important information. Please let me know if you need a paper copy of anything. We will be sending home a paper copy of the form to sign that you read our student handbook (see below), early dismissal forms, and that it is okay for your child to be photographed and use the internet.
